Ceramic Capacitors |
Capacitors are electrical energy storage devices used in electronic industry for varied applications, notably as elements of resonant circuits, as coupling and by pass applications, blockage of DC current, as frequency determining & tuning elements as filters and delay line components, and for voltage transient suppressions. The main advantage of ceramic capacitors over other types of capacitors is its high capacitance to volume ratio and
low cost.
CEDICOM Capacitors are electrical energy storage devices used in electronic industry for varied applications, notably as
elements of resonant circuits, as coupling and by pass applications, blockage of DC current, as frequency determining & tuning elements as filters and delay line components, and for voltage transient suppressions. The main advantage of ceramic capacitors over other types of capacitors is its high capacitance to volume ratio and low cost.
CEDICOMproduct range consists principally of three types of capacitors.
Type I Temperature Compensating Type
Capacitors with low - loss and non - linear capacitance change with temperature. Low dielectric constant and negligible capacitance loss due to ageing. As these capacitors possess well defined temperature co-efficient, they are employed for compensating temperature effects in different circuits. Due to low loss and high stability, they are suitable for resonant and filter circuit applications and can also be used at high radio frequencies.
Type II High Dielectric constant
Capacitors with high loss capacitance change with temperature. High Dielectric constant and capacitance loss due to temperature and will come within specifications after ageing.
Type III Semi-Conductive type
Capacitors with undefined temperature co-efficient. High dielectric constant ranging up to 10,000. Primarily used in filtering, de-coupling and all applications where capacitance to volume ratio is more and where capacitance variation with temperature and dielectric loss are of secondary importance. |

AGING |
Following the final heat treatment, all type of ceramic capacitors lose their capacitance value approximately according to the logarithmic law due to their special crystalline structure. This change is called ' Ageing ' and is defined by an ageing constant, which gives the percentage loss fold increase in age. |

SAFETY RECOGNIZED AC RATED CERAMIC CAPACITORS |
CEDICOM ELECTRONICS has introduced a series of AC capacitors in their range of single layer ceramic capacitors. Important features of the AC capacitors are their reliability and their excellent temperature stability with the range.
An AC capacitor is essentially designed for application with power frequency alternating voltage. Ceramic capacitors make excellent suppression capacitors since they are non-inductive and thus have low impedance at high frequencies. Hence they are extensively used to reduce electro magnetic interference caused by electronic and electrical apparatus. They are also used to suppress surge voltage or arcing caused by appliance ON/OFF switches and to isolate accessible parts of equipment from AC mains voltage. |
